Oh What Do You Do In The Falltime?

When all the leaves are falling down?
Do you run through the sprinkler?
Or soak up the sun?
Is that what you do? So do I.
The tykes had a wonderful day of soaking up the sun at Grandma and Grandpa Bayley's house. The weather has been a little strange this week, trying to figure out if it's suppose to be fall or still summertime.

And the Award Goes To...

H for being Courtious! Each month at H and P's school the administration picks a characteristic for the month and then each teacher puts in a students name for showing that characteristic. At the end of the month the whole school has an assembly to award these students. H is the one in the army shirt.
Of course I made him pose again at home so we could get a closer look at him. I am very proud of him and what a hard worker he is and the kindness that he has. H keep up the great work! I am glad to have you for my son. I love you!

Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You!!!

Happy Birthday dear Brandon and ...
H!!! Happy Birthday to the both of you!!!! Today was an awesome day to celebrate B and H's birthdays. So fun to reflect on the day H was born! I remember B as saying can't you just hold out a few more hours till it's my birthday with both me and the labor nurse giving him glarring looks, well his wish came true that year and H has been his best present ever. We have really enjoy having their birthdays together!! Just makes for more partien'!
My birthday boyz together- so adorable!!!
Blowing out the candles, next year I definately need to buy more, didn't even have enough to cover B's age!!! I made the cake from scratch, the frosting too! It was called Pumpkin Spice Snack Cake. It turned out rather yummy I must say so myself.
Well, P couldn't get away with not having a prize herself. Grandma Bayley loves this girl so much, she surprised P with a prize of her own- Polly Pockets!!! You go grandma knowing just what this girls likes! P kept saying thanks over and over and that this is what she always wanted. It was cute.

Fundraisers!!!???.....

So I am co-chair of our fall fundraiser at my tykes elementary school. Just today we started going through the orders making sure numbers matched up and that the checks were made out to the right place and things like that. Well let me tell you we are not making as much as we would have liked. We are going to extend the sale by a week and see what happens and make sure people have time to send theirs in if they hadn't already. This year we also tried something new of letting them do a donation instead of ordering from the catalog. The donation thing turned out pretty good and we think we will stick it with all the fundraisers we do.
My question is what kindof fundraisers does your school do or what kind would you like to see at school? Thanks so much for your input!!!!! The company we used this year was Innisbrook. They sale all the wrapping paper, gifts, magazine subscriptions, chocolates- you know the usual stuff.

Back When... I have been tagged again!

Michelle tagged me, so here it goes-

1.) What I was doing ten years ago: Sept. of 97- I had been married for over a year now. Living in SLC while Brandon attended U of U. I was working at Laser Eye Site where they did refractive surgery, that is how I got my foot in the door to many years of working in eye surgery and with Opthalmalogists.

2.) Five years ago: Sept. of 02- I had a newly one year old and was 8 1/2 months pregnant with my daughter. We were living at my in-laws house at the time in Connecticut. Brandon had just been offered his job at Chubb the month before, finally a paycheck!

3) One year ago: Sept. of 06- H was starting Kindergarten, which is full-day out here, not a fan of it and P was starting preschool. I was probably just starting out in being involved with the schools PTO.

4.) Yesterday: Went to church had to teach P's primary class, went well. Got a nap and had a great dinner of swedish meatballs and noodles with gravy from IKEA of course, my mom-in-law had been there the day before. Then went on a family walk. Had to hurry home since P was having a meltdown. The tykes needed tubs and put in bed. The next day was P's 1st day of full-day kindergarten.

5.) 5 snacks I enjoy: bananas, pretzels with mustard, yogurt, nuts, Rolos.

6.) 5 Things I would do if I suddenly had $100 million: Pay off debt, maybe buy a new house, go on a cruise with just my husband, go on a family va-k to Disney, save some and share some.

7.) 5 locations I would like to run away to: Hawaii, Africa, Germany, Japan, and some exotic island.

8.) 5 bad habits I have: biting my fingernails, fogetting things, procrastinate sometimes, not exercising enough, not shaving my legs all the time- especially in winter (it's the granola in me!)

9.) 5 things I like doing: date night, girlz night, blogging, shopping, reading magazines

10.) 5 TV shows I like: The Office, Lost, Heroes, CSI, Miami Ink

11.) 5 things I hate doing: laundry, vaccuming the stairs, coming up with dinner ideas, fogetting things I needed from a store, driving long distances myself.

12.) 5 Biggest joys of the moment: my family, girls nite on Friday, crisp fall weather, my tykes conjoined b-day party in a few weeks, trying to better myself.

Now I'm gonna tag 5 people!

1. Ashley
2. Shaka
3. Lisa
4. Kristy
5. Katrina

We all want to learn a little more about ya'!!!

Barbie as The Island Princess

Here is Miss P and her friend C waiting in line to meet and also see Barbie in her new movie The Island Princess. I found a coupon in the Barbie section at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago and came home and went to the website listed and got tickets to the preview of this new Barbie movie coming to dvd. I thought P would enjoy it with a friend. So away we went on Saturday morning. They said the girls could dress-up too if wanted.
It was quite the ordeal- you checked in got a raffle ticket to win tonz of Barbie items, met Barbie, had a game, did the raffle, and then got to see the new movie, although it was only a PREVIEW- so they only played like the 1st 20 minutes of the show, cause they want you to buy the dvd that comes out on Wednesday, so they got us either way, but it was fun anyways and all free!
Here is Miss P with Barbie as the Island Princess, of course she didn't want to pose for her photo, later P told me she was being grumpy! Since the movie theater was inside a mall we got to go to lunch and do some shopping too! So wasn't too bad of a deal after all!

*Do your girls love Barbie?*

Annual Back To School BBQ

Here is our pretty blue-eyed P
H catching some air at the end of the obstacle course. Wowzers!!!
P made her way through the obstacle course and to the end at the slide. Debating about going down, but she did it!!
This was a 2nd year at the bbq. It is always a great gathering at the school and a great way to get to know some new faces. Being in the PTO I sure do get to help out with this kindof stuff. Even put my hubby to work too. He helped take photos of the event. Back to another fun year of school! Mom and dad are so proud of you H and P! Always keep up the good work!

*Do you attend and like going to school functions?*

Back2School Swap

I participated in the Back2School Swap hosted by M at martawrites@blogspot.com. As always I think swaps are sooo much fun! My swap partner was Itziar from Spain! It has been fun chatting and getting to know someone from a different country too! My beloved package arrived yesterday- and this is what it beheld: a notepad, a handmade pencil pouch with a pen and 2 triangular shaped pencils, a bag of candy, cute little old chair card, a polk-a-dotted mug with teas in it, a cd mixed with tunes that Itziar had made from a disc someone had given her from another swap that she has taken to liking and wanted to pass the music love on, a pencil sharpener, and she was too kind and sent both my tykes a Playmobil character. P got a pharoah and H got a pirate. They so loved them! Thank you so much Itziar for the fun Back2School package! She even mentioned that school hadn't even started out there yet!

Church Dedication

Today was our church dedication. We are so blessed to have a new building for our church members to meet in. We used to have to meet in a shopping strip mall. It was a little strange, but did look just like a church on the inside. Kindof difficult to explain each week to the kids about people shopping on Sunday when we have been asked not too as we drive by the grocery store to get to church. The plus side of having the church meet at the strip mall for us was that the church was only a mile away. No we have a bit of a long drive of 25 minutes to the new building, but we so love it and how beautiful it really is.
I just had to have a family picture taken on this special day. As most of the time, P does not want to cooperate. The dedication was so special cause the 1st counselor to the prophet of our church, President Thomas S. Monson, had flown in from Utah to do the dedication. Now someone this high up usually doesn't do dedications that often for a church, but since his grand-daughter attends the other ward that also meets at our church, we were blessed to have him visit and do the dedication. It was so neat to see and hear. When he was leaving the building he waved to us all and the chills I felt will be something I always remember. My mom even got to shake his hand. It's like you are meeting and or seeing someone famous to us Mormon folk. It really was a day to be remembered.

Brimfield Antique Show

Yeah- my mom, sister Kristy, mom-in-law Carla, and I made our way to the Brimfield antique show on Friday. There was so much to see, of course not enough time and loads of sun and humidity- which was not too fun for me! Made me a little on the grumpy side, but besides that we had a grand ol' time searching for this and that!
It was fun just taking some photos along the way as well.
Here is a picture of Kristy and my feet, the picture doesn't do it justice, since it doesn't really show just how dirty our feet were!
We will see you next year at Brimfield!

Trip to the Bronx Zoo

Grandma and Grandpa B invited us to the Bronx Zoo on Labor Day!!! It was everyone's first time too!!How cute is it to see baby animals at the zoo, like this cute baby gorilla.
Here's the baby's daddy. He was quite fun to watch. He would stick his tongue out at people. So I got my mom-in-law to take pics, although now I don't have one to show, I would stick my tongue out at him and he would do it back. We were cackling up a storm. Too funny!
Here is the tykes with their faces painted. It was so fun to watch teh transformation and to see them sitting sooo still with their eyes closed the whole time for the artists. P is a pretty butterfly and H is a tropical snake face. They sure got lots of looks after their paintings!
Got a good pic of the sea lions too.
A huge Thank-You to Grandma and Grandpa for another fun-filled day at the zoo with lots of memories!

Oreo Truffles- To Die For!

Ok so my tykes and I went to a birthday party of one of one of my friends kids. My friend is quite the cook I am figuring out. You should have seen the display of food they had for the party! There was 4 different desserts alone! My friend told me she made them all since that is what her daughter requested for her birthday. So I had to share this wonderful treat of OREO TRUFFELS with you all, since I myself have never had them. So easy to make too.
Oreo Truffles-
1 package mint Oreos
8oz cream cheese - softened
1 bag of chcolate chips
1 Tbls Crisco

In food processor blend the oreos, then add cream cheese till blended.
Then melt the chocolate chips with the crisco in pan or in microwave.
Roll "oreo dough" into balls in dip into melted chocolate, set onto waxed paper dry.
Then of course serve and eat.
You could do a few varieties of this recipe- using regular oreos with mint chocolate chips or peanut butter chips with regualr oreos. Oh the possibilities!!! I personally think the mint ones would be the best!!!
Hope all who are reading will enjoy some of their own!!! Or if I happen to have the stuff on hand or will go out and buy when you visit me, I will gladly make some for you!

Burr Pond State Park

Here is H and P during our little Saturday outing. The weather was perfect and so was this state park. Can't wait to go back again. They have a great big pond and you can rent canoes and cruise along on it!! Definately going back for that!
Mudslide and P. Mudsy accidently fell into the pond. She thought she could reach, but instead just dropped right on in and started to sink, thank goodness it was Daddy to the rescue!
Brandon and I in one of my fave poses!!! Isn't he adorable! Kissable too!
Loved these roots from a tree or a few. It was most interesting. We always had to be watching where we stepped since there were tons of roots in the ground, we kept tripping on them!
Again- it was another fun family outing. Next time swimsuits will be included! Thanks Brandon for finding a fun place to go, not to far from home!
