Sunday Post

Ok, I know i have been slacking on my Sunday Posts, it seems to be hard to get a lot out of my Sundays due to the wee little lad, but I do enjoy church and look forward to being able to get more out of it. Anyways, thought I would share this story, since it happened on Sunday. The tykes were so good all afternoon that they got to pick a movie to watch before bed. They picked Disneys Mighty Joe Young. (hope some of you have seen this, with Charleze Therain) It's about an enormous gorilla. It is quite a touching story. Well, when it was over Miss P was just a crying. She was sadden by some of the things that went on in the movie. She couldn't stop crying. It was a great lesson to teach her or her emotions and how it was ok for her to cry about it. We had long hugs and chats for quite some time. Even Big bro H was trying to help and even let her sleep with his stuffed gorilla! Now that is brotherly love!
Miss P I am glad you got to sleep last night and I hope had some good dreams, since I didn't hear from you! I love that you are finding and sharing your emotions! Welcome to finding more things out in life! We all love you!

My 1st Blogger Award!! For Me!!!

My blogging friend, Amanda, over at My Remodeled Life is the awesome one who thought I was one of lucky 7 to receive this award!

Here are the rules for the Honest Scrap award -

The honorees are to:

A) first list 10 honest things about yourself - and make it interesting, even if you have to dig deep!

B) pass the award on to 7 bloggers that you feel embody the spirit of the Honest Scrap.

Simple. Or not.

Ok, so here goes my list of 10-

- I lost my favorite VANS shoe when I stage-dived at a ska concert back in high school.

- MY BFF and I were in the "Longest Leg Hair Growing Contest" in high school over Christmas break. They did before and after pix too. I came in 2nd and my BFF made 1st! Yes we were quite proud and even kept the leg hair growing after words, we went as far as bleaching our leg hair!

- In high school, the lady who did my nails would also call in any absences I had so I wouldn't get in trouble with teachers or my mom! Thanks Khadija!

- My mom and I have a secret hand hold and I have past it on to my son.

- When I see someone I know and feel embarrassed, I will turn the other way so I don't have to talk to them. Lame, I know!

- I use to not be a big book reader until I read the Twilight series, now I must always have a book to read. I am really into nonfiction books!

- I like to lurk on blogs, but then again, who doesn't!

- I am addicted to reading In Touch Weekly magazine- gotta have my star fix!

- I am not a huge fan of dusting. Does it ever really go away???

- My first car was a VW Fox, it was stick-shift and I didn't know how to drive it, so it sat in my driveway for a few weeks till I learned.

Well, hope that was Honest enough for you all!
Here are my 7 that I think earn this award too!

*Sondra- my sis cause she always amazes me, she is learning Spanish and is trying to read the Book of Mormon in Spanish.

*Karmen- my cousin cause it's fun to be in touch and she lives on a farm!

*RAE- a fellow blogger friend cause she has such fun decor in her home for all occasions and likes to share them on her blog!

*Kristy- my sis who moved to England, because we all live through her and her fun adventures she is having there!

*BEX- a friend from church who recently moved to Oklahoma. She is a photographer and it's always fun to see things through her eyes!

*Kathryn- she is one of my BFF's whose getting ready to have her 4th child in less than a week!

*Kelly- another fellow blogger friend, cause she lives in a sunny warm place, where I wish I was and she has great ideas that she shares on her blogs!

The Bachelor

Ok, I am back into the Bachelor this season. I hadn't watched the past few, but for some reason, since I am not following many shows, this has been fun to pick up again. What a fun Bachelor- a single-dad this time. Hope he finds his true love and it actually sticks! (since most never do, it seems.)

*So are you into The Bachelor too?*

#1 Coach

So Brandon had a dinner the other night with all his biking buddies. They were planning out their training schedule to get ready for their 2nd B2B race this summer. Brandon mentioned when he got there some of his friends were walking in with gifts, which he found a little strange. Well, come to find out, part of the dinner was to say thanks to Brandon for being a great coach and helping some find a new hobby in road biking!
Brandon said he was speechless. The card was way nice, I was even quite moved by it all too! They got him a Washington jersey- since he climbed Mt. Rainer (hoping to do it again this year too!), a new helmet, gift cards to McD's and one for us at a seafood restaurant! How kind is all of that!
Thanks guys for being a part of my husband's life and enjoying some of the things he loves too!

Dressing Up

We were invited to a wedding dinner of some friends of ours from church. It was at a nice hotel. The food was great, the company wonderful, and love all around. Since we don't get gussied up too often, I had to have a picture! Baby G had a hard night- too many faces and loud music for his liking. We had to leave early, but surely enjoyed our night out!
Don't you love weddings- it brings back memories of my own special day!
Thanks to Amy for watching the other tykes for us!

Happy 2009!

Can't believe the New Year is here! We had quite the mellow New Year's Eve and day. We went out to dinner in the wonderful, freezing storm we were having on New Year's Eve as a family, then basically came home and watched movies till midnight. The tykes were so excited we let them stay up till midnight. They decided to stay up even longer till about 2am. They were running circles around the house to keep themselves awake.
Thank goodness they were good sports and took much needed naps the next day.
We are excited to start the new year fresh. We like to make goals and write them down, seal them up till the next year to read and see what got accomplished. We still have to read last years, maybe doing that for Family Night! I am excited to see what they said and excited for new goals- personal and family ones.
Happy 2009 to everyone!!!

*Do you set goals, if so do you keep them?*
