Then came Trick-or-Treat, then dinner. All dinner and dessert items could be judged too, as all the activites and they even had a arts-n-crafts area to bring thing you had made to be judged as well.
The tykes painting their pumpkins. P did this for quite a while. Her pumpkin turned out very BLUE!
This is the booth Brandon and I were in charge of- Apple Bobbing.
P got a flower painted on her face.
H of course picked a skeleton face for his.
It was an all around fun family night! We will definately look forward to this next year!

Cabela's is here!

Have you ever been to Cabela's? Everytime we would go to PA to visit, we would always have to make a stop here. Now we don't have to drive as far. Just a short 45 minutes away for our own Cabela's adventure!
They always put on a great display of animals to look at. The kids love this. I guess they put out animals that are from the area. Interesting!
This was P's favorite part. This animated guy telling stories by the fire.
We couldn't leave without a few things. This is H showing some of the goods. He is sporting his new down vest- love the orange! And he is holding the monkey P picked out.
It was another fun adventure for the Bayley clan. Brandon was sooo excited to go and for the first time, he walked out of the store empty handed!

Friday Movie Nite

After a long day of dentist and doctor appointments, we decided on family movie night. We like to do this quite alot, mostly when school is in session. Summertime we are usually outdoors. Anyways, ABC Family is having 13 Nights of Halloween with Halloween shows on nightly till the big night. They were showing E.T. It's an all time favorite of mine and so we decided to watch it as a family. I couldn't resist taking this picture of P with her dad, plumb tuckered out from the days events.
H had to get in on the action too. He wanted to take of picture of Mudslide being sleepy too!
Daddy even made peanut butter cookies!

*Does your family have weekend traditions?**

Time Out for Women

My mother-in-law and I attended the "Time Out for Women" event which is presented by Deseret Book. Deseret Book is a christian bookstore, mostly located out west. This event goes all over the U.S. and was here in Hartford on Saturday. It was such an awesome uplifting day! There were some wonderful speakers- Virginia H. Pearce, who is our prophets daughter, Jane Clayson Johnson, Camille Fronk Olson, Kathryn Turley, and Carolyn Rasmus. Also musical guest was Hilary Weeks.
I would like to reflect a little on some things that were said that really touched me. Jane Clayson Johnson- Be happy in the shoes your in. Our standards as LDS, aren't socially negotionable. Voices of the world are loud- make good choices! There are many seasons in our lives- never be afraid to be a mother. Motherhood is a blessing. We mother the way that is best for us. Respect and uplift motherhood in our society. We mothers make a difference!
Virginia H. Pearce- Be kind! Everyone is fighting a battle. Give people the benefit of the doubt. Notice one another and be more loving and willing. Spiritual growth- there is no such thing as done.
The musical guest- Hilary Weeks was wonderful. I don't think I had ever heard her stuff before this. She was a great entertainer.
Here is all the fun goodys we got in our goodybags upon arriving. Notice there is a pack of tissues too!
Thanks Carla for a great day out! Thanks to my wonderful hubby for helping with the tykes to make this possible for me. Love you guys!

The Birthday Surprise!

We went here this evening as a Surprise with the tykes to get a birthday prize! P has been wanting to get the orange kitty here for along time. H is always wanting new clothes for his bear, but today decided he too wanted a new furry friend too! He picked the black bear!
Here is P and the fun employee we got to help build our furry friends. P does not really like loud noise if you couldn't tell.
Here are the tykes giving their furry friends' hearts some love! Tender chicken!
Finished products in boxes and ready to take home!
Thanks tykes for being sooo excited with me for this fun surprise! I sure love Build-A-Bear just as much as the tykes do!
What a great way to end a fun day!

Happy 5th Birthday to my Baby!!!

Here is my baby on her 5th birthday! Can't believe how fast time sure does fly!!! Seems just like yesterday she was born!
The coveted doll from grandma and grandpa Bayley. It's Baby Alive! This is what P really wanted for her birthday.
We also had to try the new baby out. She drinks then wets! Here is P and H learning how to change a diaper. They were quite interested in the whole thing.
Happy 5th birthday to you P! She told us she wished for a trampoline with M&M's on it!
Of course grandma can't get away with not giving H a prize too. He scored a new football! Can you tell he is excited!!!!
P- I am sooo glad you were sent to our family. I could not imagine life without you! You are such a fireball of energy and happiness! I know you will go far! Keep reaching for your dreams and keep up the awesome job of being you!!! We sure love you! I won't forget how excited you were all day long- telling everyone that it was your birthday and that you were 5 now. Along with lots of jumping and pure excitement! Don't ever loose this side of you!

Could You Be a Vampire?

You Could Be a Vampire... If You Had To

Like most people, the thought of being a vampire has crossed your mind. But you're not sure if you'd do it, even if you could.
Living forever doesn't sound half bad, if you could live forever with the people you love the most.
But do vampires even love? And would the vampire version of you even be you?
It's all too much to contemplate. Luckily, the chances of you ever becoming a vampire are astronomically low.

What you would like best about being a vampire: Living forever

What you would like least about being a vampire: Blood stained teeth

*So are you like me or are you 100% Vampire?*

The Pumpkin Patch

This has become such a fun tradition for us, as well as for many of you I am sure. Going to the Pumpkin Patch! We went to Ruwets in the next town over from us. It was a terrific day too! (sorry for the shiny metal on the tractor!)
Her is P, H, and H's friend, Charlie posing with a frightful guest! They just went through the little haunted house they have.
All Aboard the tractor ride to the pumpkin patch! Here is H, Charlie, more friends- Olivia and Clara, & P.
Along the route to the field of pumpins they have all kinds of halloween scenes set-up for our scare. I just loved what they did with the hay bails. Don't you love the huge eye!!! They also had a pumpkin, which I want to go back and have my tykes pics with, Frankinstein, and a spider!
Of course, here is the fruits of our picking labors!!! I so love pumpkins and the fun decor that they are. They last for quite some time, so I can keep them through Thanksgiving too.
Ok- so this is one thing I love about New England, besides all the pretty lush green trees and how they look in the fall time, but how everyone gets into decorating their homes for the holidays. Fun to see pumpkins, gourds, cronstalks, scarecrows, and halloween decor galore all over!!!

Here we come, hiking up the hill...

Another glorious day! We decided to go for one of our favorite hikes to Hublein Tower and take in all the fall beauty mixed in with the warm weather. Here is P getting a lift from her daddy. I think this may be P's favorite way to hike.
Here is H with the camelback. He said he wants to climb Mt. Rainer just like dad one day, so he is getting prepared!
Here is a lookout point along the top of the trail. It was beautiful!
Here are the tykes at the top of the tower. Of course for some unknown reason, I didn't get a pic of the outside of the tower. P likes to call this the "Shrek Tower". She used to always wonder where Princess Fiona and Shrek were? We still haven't found them yet!
On our way back down- here is P doing her scary face for dad. Gotta love her!!

You're Invited to our Halloween Birthday Party!

This year I decided to do a joint birthday party for H & P since their birthdays are 3 weeks apart. Here is the table set-up! I just love parties!!!
Blowing out the cupcakes. Note- I just picked up the fun cupcake holder. All the friends were told to come in costume too!
No party is complete without a Pinata! It took the tykes quite some time to get that cany corn to crack. Thank goodness for an older tyke passing by in the neighborhood who helped take a couple big swings at it.
Here is P. When she wasn't hitting the Pinata, she was cruisen' around the yard. One of P's favorite things is to chase boys these days. I think I may be in trouble!! Of course both my tykes decided to take their costumes off during the party, but yes they were dressed up for a littlw while.
The reward is the best of all- CANDY!!! And lots of it!
How can you have a party and not get your pets involved too. Here's Mudlside in costume too!
Happy Birthday to H (who turned 6) & P (who will turn 5 later this week)! Thanks for being my tykes. I love you both so!
