St. George Here We Come...

Oh, the beauty of St. George! I sooo love this place. I grew up going here each year for Spring Break! So it was a nice welcome and great weather to come back to.
Do you spy the temple? I do! Such a beautiful site!
Here is our view from the patio at out condo in Green Valley! L-O-V-E-L-Y! I can't even tell you how nice it felt to be in some warmth for a few days!
Thanks to the fun blogging swaps, I decided to host a little "My Favorite Things" with my friends. I asked them to bring something that was their favorite thing, spending $10 or less. I brought a Yankee Candle and a car air freshener. Shelby brought her favorite body oil and Cadbury chocolate eggs, Kathryn brought gummy candies and press-on toe nails, Ele brought pistachios, yummy lotion, and a cd of her favorite tunes. Also pictured is the yummy breakfast Kathryn made one morning for us- creme brule' french toast! Way yummy. The swap was awesome too! Thanks friends for sharing your fave things with me!!!

The Hubby Tag!

My hubby climbing Mt. Rainier last summer!

I waited to do this TAG since this is around the time Brandon proposed to me! Sweet!

All about my Hubby......

What is his name? Brandon, Bran, B, or Babe!

How long have you been married? 12 years in July

How long did you date? 8 months

How old is he? 36

Who said "I love you first"? He did in a letter. I had to take it to work so me and my co-worker could analyze it!

Who is taller? Brandon by 2 inches

Who eats more sweets? That is easy- me!

Who can sing better? Brandon, especially when he plays guitar. Which he did once on a date and sang a song about me- tender!

Who is smarter? Hands down- Brandon. If I can't answer the tykes questions, I always tell them we will have to ask dad!

Who does the laundry? Mostly me, sometimes I need a little push, so he helps get it going, then I can roll with it.

Who pays the bills? Me, have our entire marriage.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Brandon if you are looking at the bed, in bed it would be me. Weird question- who cares.

Who mows the lawn? That is a man's job, Brandon does it with his helper H.

Who cooks dinner? Usually me, unless it's steak or I can't think of anything to make, then it's daddy chef to the rescue. He is a good cook too!

Who drives? Brandon and he loves to!

Who is more stubborn? quite equal in that department.

Who kissed who first? Brandon- on a unexpected date at the Nutty-Putty caves. Something about dirt does it for Brandon.

Who asked who out first? I asked Brandon out to the Pearl Jam concert!

Who proposed? Brandon, by total surprise. Hey I was waiting for my missionary to return. I still had 2 years to even think about marriage!

Who has more siblings? I do! (by many- lots of step and half siblings) He is the oldest of 6 though!

Ok, I TAG anyone who would like to chat about their hubby too!

Sunday Post

Today I had double duty in primary. I got to do singing time and sharing time. I was quite proud of having both things very prepared for. Sharing time went great. We talked about stories from the bible. I feel like I learn something new each week in primary. Those kids are amazing and the knowledge they have. I loved holding up a picture from one of the bible stories and asking if anyone knew the story behind it. Such a joy to see hands go up and have them tell the story.
To all my primary kids- thanks for a great Sunday and all that you teach me!

Material Girl!

This is what I found this morning. P dressed for the day! She has quite the colors combo going on. She can't reach her drawers, so she hauls her stuffed horse over and stands on it to look in her drawers. I think she must of had a hard time deciding what to put on as I found 2 drawers all torn apart and clothes stuffed under the dresser and under her bed sheets! Which all had to be re-folded and put away.
This girl does crack me up with her sense of style though, especially when she asks how do I look? Now as the mom how are you suppose to respond other than, you look fancy darling!
I hope P always keeps up her spunkiness. We always need a little around here! I love you!

Yankee Candle

I so heart candles!!! Let alone Yankee Candles which are made in Massachusetts!!! And not too far of a drive from me. Well, they are having their warehouse sale and I had to check it out. So we made a family event out of it. The tykes love to go since they have a "dark room" with a train that goes around it that they love to see.
They have tonz of different rooms with different things for sale. Here is H posing by a real huge nutcracker that really works! I love nutcrackers!
We went to a candle demonstration. Check out that huge drying rack! Love those beeswax candles. I even learned that they are great cause they don't bother people with allergies and burn real slow too!
Brandon, H and P watching the demonstration. We ended up leaving it a little early due to a rowdy child needing a potty break.
They had this fun display up of Mount Rushmore for our picture taking pleasure for the celebration of Presidents Day.
So if you are ever out in the east coast, the Yankee Candle store is the place to go! They have a resturant in the store, tonz o' candles and decor, handmade fudge and lots of candies, a toy store, and Santa and Mrs. Claus are there all year long!

*Did you and your family do something fun this weekend?*

I saw someone famous!!!

Today on our family excursion to the Yankee Candle Warehouse sale in Massachusetts, we pass a silver Nissan Pathfinder. For some reason I decide to look over at the driver. I tell my hubby, I think that is Seth Green, the actor. So we keep cruising a long and a few minutes later my hubby tells me he is slowing down waiting for Seth to catch up. He was driving slow. So Seth catches up and my hubby gets a better view and says that is him, but I didn't get to see him very well this time. So now I am determined to see him again, while thinking should I get my camera out too?? We drive by him again and I get a great look and guess what??? It was SETH GREEN!!! His license plate was from Colorado too. I couldn't believe it. I was ecstatic grinning from ear to ear! So I am very excited to share it all with you!!

*Have you ever seen someone famous, and it made you giddy?*
- I did touch the head of the lead singer of LIVE in concert once.

The Day Just Got Better!

Oh- looky what I got for Valentine's Day, a new mailbox and filled with prizes! Just what I had asked for!Next to my mailbox are the bags of prizes and goodies that the tykes and daddy got. I love to doorbell ditch the tykes and leave a prize for them. My loving husband helped me by doing this at their grandparents house. He even put out his own gift bag with the rest and also left my mailbox too on the porch! It was quite a surprise for us all when we opened the door!
I sooo heart Valentine's! Ok, so even though we didn't get to eat at Red Lobster (2 hour wait!), we found a awesome India resturant- Yummy!
We also got to see Fool's Gold! How could you not love Kate and Matt together! Great show with a lot of laughs!

Post Office

The past few days I have found myself having to visit the local Post Office in town. My receipts have had this wonderful saying at the bottom:
"Let Us Dare To Read, Think, Speak, and Write." -John Adams, 1765
then it leaves you with a website of www.poweroftheletter.com which talks about John Adams and his wife and the letters they wrote. Guess there is a movie coming out about him. How his letters are history and how great it is that we have them to look back on and learn from.
I really like this quote and kept my receipt so I could look up the website and find out more.

*Don't you just love a power of a quote?*

Sunday Post

Made it to church today, even though I am still stuffy and coughing. (Darn colds last f-o-r-e-v-e-r!) The primary kids were asked to sing "Love is Spoken Here." To set the mood for sacrament meeting which was on LOVE. They did a wonderful job. I was up singing too, so I didn't get to watch my kids, but my hubby said they both actually sang! It was just a great feeling to feel the love that the speakers brought and one of the counselors spoke to each group- husbands, wifes, young men, and young women. He was saying to the young men and women to treat your family with love and kindness and you will be ready to treat anyone later on in your dating life (meaning that special someone who, you may marry.)
I just so love this holiday. I brought little Valentine treat bags to give all the primary kids and they were just so excited. I loved telling them how much we loved them and to share their this Valentines! I was also told that the young women in the ward are making Valentines for the kids and will be presenting them next Sunday to the kids- now that is sharing the LOVE!!

*Are you sharing the LOVE this Valentines? If so, share your fun ideas!!!

Karate Anyone???

H has been taking an after- school karate class. He has really been enjoying it. Saturday was the class graduation at the karate studio.
Here is H in some kicking action!
This is my boy with his certificate and he also earned his white belt!
After a lot of thinking and deciding with dad, we ended up signing H on for lessons. So he got his uniform too! He starts classes on Monday.
H is so excited. We went to G&G's after and he was stoked to try his outfit on and show some moves to G&G. Way to go! We are so proud of you and hope you keep it up! You go Karate Boy!

Sunday Post

Well, my Sunday post will be short and sweet, since I am sick yet again! I was even suppose to do the Sharing Time for all the kids. Thank goodness for my awesome presidency who pulled through for me! (Karen you rock!!) My poor counselor couldn't find my sharing time that I had all planned out, so she instead went in the church library and got the sharing time that was presented by our recently pasted prophet, Gordan B. Hinckley. I am sure it was a hit with the kids. I think I need to watch it myself soon!
Here's to getting better and a smooth sailing Sunday next week!

Yeah Baby Expo Here Again!

The Yeah Baby Expo was in town again this weekend and we had a blast!! We first got to meet Dorothy the Dinosaur from The Wiggles. She was there handing out discount tickets to Six Flags.
Here's H with his prize bopper hammer from playing the how strong are you game, his dad had to help him a little.
They even have a Nickelodeon Show! They pick people from the audience to help with the games. Do you recognize that Jimmy Neutron? We sure did! It was dad! (What a good sport!) Mom and H also got to help out during a game too! I could not stop laughing! My part was to pour fake syrup on some guys head cause we were making him into a banana split!
H and P posing with a huge dinosaur! It was a fun-filled afternoon for sure. Inflatables, carnival rides, a petting zoo, free stuff, and treats! What more could you ask for on a winter day!
